Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle-bone disease, is a genetic disorder characterized by bones that break easily without a specific cause. Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) literally means "imperfectly formed bone”.

Facts :

  1. OI is a disease characterized by breaking of bones under no realp appearent cause except for bone brittleness.
  2. While the number of people affected with OI in the United States is unknown, the best estimate suggests a minimum of 20,000 and possibly as many as 50,000.
