characterized by bones that break easily without a specific cause. Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) literally means "imperfectly formed bone”.
Facts :
- OI is a disease characterized by breaking of bones under no realp appearent cause except for bone brittleness.
- While the number of people affected with OI in the United States is unknown, the best estimate suggests a minimum of 20,000 and possibly as many as 50,000.
